This adventure combines scenic cycling routes, trekking, kayaking, wildlife experiences, and cultural encounters across forests, hills, backwaters, and coastal regions.

Begin in Fort Kochi, where you are welcomed and transferred to your hotel. Explore the historic streets of this colonial-era port city, with optional experiences such as a traditional tuk-tuk ride or a Kathakali dance performance showcasing Kerala’s cultural heritage.

Cycle to Thattekkad, a renowned birdwatching destination, where you can enjoy kayaking through lowland forests and guided nature walks rich in birdlife and biodiversity.

Continue to Munnar, passing through scenic forest routes such as Neriamangalam. In Munnar, explore Rhodo Valley and undertake the Meeshapulimala trek through shola forests and grasslands. Visit tea plantations, the Tea Museum, and local markets.

Cycle onward to Suryanelli via tea estates and Lockhart Gap, followed by a plantation walk. Continue to Shantanpara for the Papathy Shola trek through cardamom plantations and tribal villages.

Ride through the Cardamom Hills to Thekkady, where you will experience a spice plantation tour, Kalaripayattu martial arts performance, bamboo rafting, and forest trekking within Periyar Tiger Reserve.

Proceed to Vagamon, cycling through rolling hills and meadows, with optional nature walks and stream visits. Continue to Alleppey, enjoying a downhill cycling stretch through farms and villages before exploring the backwaters by kayak.

Experience a traditional houseboat cruise through Alleppey’s canals and lakes, observing village life along the waterways. Finally, cycle to Marari Beach through fishing villages and coastal roads, where you can relax and unwind.

Conclude the journey with an airport transfer and departure, taking home memories of Kerala’s landscapes, culture, and adventure experiences.

The route connects forests, high ranges, plantations, wildlife reserves, backwaters, and coastal areas in a continuous southbound progression.

The itinerary combines cycling on village and hill roads, guided trekking in forest and mountain regions, kayaking through rivers and backwaters, and a traditional houseboat cruise.

Day 1: Arrival to Fort Kochi

Upon your arrival in Kochi, you will be greeted at the airport and escorted to your accommodation. It will be an hour’s drive to reach the hotel in Fort Kochi. After you settle down and relax, the bike fitting is scheduled.

In the afternoon, we will explore the city in a tuk-tuk, a fantastic way to soak in the city’s vibrant atmosphere and rich history. Enjoy scenic views and the iconic Chinese fishing nets of Fort Kochi beach. Visit St. Francis Church, the oldest European church in India. Explore Jewish history and heritage in Jew Town. You will also have the option to attend a Kathakali performance show.


Day 2: Cycling to Thattekkad

Activity: Cycling to Thattekkad, Afternoon Kayaking through lowland forests

After a fulfilling breakfast, you will be driven to the starting point of your cycling ride. From here, you will begin cycling to Thattekkad, known for its rich avian diversity, including endemic and migratory bird species.

The route covers approximately 50 km and consists mostly of flat backroads with a few easy climbs, passing through lush plantations, irrigation canals, and villages. Along the way, you will see plantations of rubber, pepper, nutmeg, banana, and pineapple.

Upon reaching Thattekkad, you will check in at a riverfront camp. Later, you will enjoy a kayaking experience through the lowland forests of Thattekkad, paddling along the banks of the Periyar River, a prime habitat for diverse bird species.

After kayaking, relax at the nature camp and experience the calm night atmosphere of Thattekkad.

Day 3: Cycling to Munnar

Activity: Morning Nature Walk, Cycling through forests of Neriamangalam and Transfer to Munnar

You will start the day with a nature walk, enjoying the tranquil atmosphere and soothing sounds of nature. During the walk, you may spot various bird species native to the region.

After breakfast, you will embark on a 50 km cycling journey through the forests of Neriamangalam, known as the Gateway to the High Ranges. The route includes climbs and varying terrain, passing through dense forests, winding roads, river streams, and occasional waterfalls, creating a picturesque landscape.

After cycling, you will be driven to your accommodation in Munnar. The route passes through tea plantations and winding mountain roads, offering breathtaking views of valleys and waterfalls in the Western Ghats.

You will stay at a hotel that offers a comfortable retreat after a full day of cycling and travel.


Day 4: Meeshapulimala Trek

Activity: Transfer to Rhodo Valley, Meeshapulimala Trek through Shola Forests and Grasslands, Visit Tea Museum and Local Market Walk

After a hearty breakfast, you will travel by jeep to Rhodo Valley, the starting point of your trek. The valley is covered with grasslands, pine trees, flowers, and small rivulets.

The trek continues towards Meeshapulimala, the second highest peak in South India, known for its unique shola forest and grassland ecosystem. Along the way, you may spot the Nilgiri Tahr, an endemic species of the Western Ghats, along with freshwater streams and diverse flora.

Upon reaching the summit, you will enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding valleys and mist-covered mountains.

After the trek, you will return to Munnar and visit the Tea Museum, where you can learn about the history and process of tea production in the region. Later, enjoy a walk through the local market to experience the town’s culture and everyday life.

After a full day of exploration, you will return to your hotel for relaxation.

Day 5: Cycling to Suryanelli

After breakfast, you will begin cycling towards Suryanelli covering approximately 30 km through the hilly and undulating terrain of Lockhart Gap, offering an exhilarating ride with stunning views of the Western Ghats.

As you cycle, you will pass through expansive tea plantations. The neatly lined tea bushes create a mesmerizing landscape, and you may even see tea pickers at work. You will also ride along the scenic Anairangal Lake, surrounded by lush tea gardens, dense forests, and rolling hills.

Upon arrival, you will check in at your accommodation. In the evening, you will enjoy a guided plantation walk.


Day 6: Pappathy Shola Trek

After a hearty breakfast, you will set out for a trek through dense cardamom plantations and the Papathy Shola region, including visits to nearby tribal villages.

The trek covers approximately 12 km of moderate terrain through hills, villages, and plantations. Along the way, you will walk through vast stretches of cardamom estates and learn about the cultivation and harvesting of this aromatic spice.

This experience also offers opportunities to interact with local communities and gain insight into their culture and daily life.

After the trek, you will return to your resort for an overnight stay.

Day 7: Cycling to Thekkady

Today, you will cycle to Thekkady covering approximately 65 km of hilly and undulating terrain. The route passes through scenic landscapes filled with tea, coffee, and spice plantations.

A visit to a spice plantation in Thekkady provides an immersive experience where you can learn about the cultivation, processing, and uses of various spices used in Indian cuisine and traditional medicine.

In the evening, you will witness a Kalaripayattu performance, the traditional martial art form of Kerala.

You will stay at a comfortable resort in Thekkady.


Day 8: Explore Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary

Day 9: Cycling to Vagamon

Day 10: Cycling to Alleppey
