Day 1 – Mysore

Arrive at Bangalore Airport and transfer to Mysore, a journey of approximately three hours through the scenic countryside of Karnataka. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and take some time to relax before beginning your exploration of one of South India’s most historic cities.

In the afternoon, enjoy a guided sightseeing tour of Mysore, a city renowned for its royal heritage, vibrant culture, and architectural splendour. Once the capital of the Kingdom of Mysore, the city continues to showcase a rich legacy through its palaces, temples, markets, and traditional industries.

Visit the magnificent Mysore Palace, one of India’s most celebrated royal residences. Admire its grand Durbar Hall, intricate interiors, and the famous Golden Royal Elephant Throne, reflecting the opulence of the Wodeyar dynasty.

Continue to Chamundi Hills, which rise above the city and offer panoramic views of Mysore and the surrounding countryside. Visit the revered Chamundeshwari Temple and the iconic Nandi Temple, home to a massive stone sculpture of Nandi, the sacred bull of Hindu mythology.

Day 2 – Bandipur

After breakfast, depart for Bandipur, travelling through the fertile farmlands of Karnataka where rice, millet, sugarcane, and vegetable crops dominate the landscape. The journey takes approximately two hours.

Upon arrival, check in to your forest lodge situated at the foothills of the Nilgiri Hills, surrounded by the natural beauty of one of India’s most important wildlife regions.

Following lunch, embark on an exciting jeep safari through Bandipur Tiger Reserve. Part of the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve, Bandipur is renowned for its rich biodiversity and plays a significant role in the conservation of the Bengal tiger and other wildlife species.

As you explore the reserve, keep watch for elephants, gaur, sambar deer, spotted deer, wild boar, Malabar giant squirrels, and a variety of birdlife. With a bit of luck, you may also encounter some of the reserve’s more elusive inhabitants within their natural habitat.

Day 3 – Ooty

After breakfast, continue your journey to Ooty, travelling through the scenic landscapes of Mudumalai Forest and the rolling tea-covered hills of the Nilgiris. The drive takes approximately two hours and offers beautiful views of forests, plantations, and mountain scenery.

Ooty, one of South India’s most beloved hill stations, is renowned for its cool climate, mist-covered hills, expansive tea estates, and colonial-era charm.

In the afternoon, visit the famous Botanical Garden, home to a diverse collection of exotic and native plant species spread across beautifully landscaped grounds. Later, stop at a local chocolate factory to learn about the region’s chocolate-making traditions and sample some of Ooty’s popular handmade chocolates.

Return to your hotel and enjoy a relaxing evening amidst the refreshing mountain atmosphere.

Day 4 – Pollachi

Activity: Heritage Train Ride to Coonoor, Transfer to Pollachi, Bullock Cart Ride

Day 5 – Munnar

Activity: Hike to Thuvanam Waterfall, Visit to Local Jaggery-Making Unit

Continue the journey through the picturesque Marayoor Sandalwood Forest, with a stop to observe traditional jaggery production, where sugarcane is processed using age-old methods to produce natural sweeteners.

Day 6 – Exploring Tea Plantation

Activity: Tea Plantation Walk & Tea Factory Visit (“Make Your Own Tea” Experience)

Today offers an immersive tea experience in the heart of Munnar’s plantation country. Begin with a guided walk through the tea estates, where you will learn about cultivation techniques and have the opportunity to pluck fresh tea leaves directly from the plants.

Continue to a mini tea factory to observe the complete tea-making process, from withering and rolling to drying and grading. This hands-on experience provides insight into how tea is transformed from leaf to cup.

Day 7 – Vandanmedu

The trail continues through lush cardamom plantations and leads into a traditional Muthuvan tribal settlement, offering insights into the indigenous culture and lifestyle of the region. After completing the trek, enjoy a relaxed picnic lunch in a scenic natural setting before continuing your journey to Vandanmedu.

Day 8 – Thekkady
